For the fifth consecutive year, St. Catherine's showed strength and depth across the board to capture the VISAA State Championship! On the way to our 47 point state championship win over Norfolk Academy, there were dozens of great performances, PR's and we broke another four St. Catherine's school records and two Virginia state meet records.
Austin Smithers broke her 55 meter dash record running a 7.41, and finally broke the 300 meter record with a time of 41.94. She even started off the St. Catherine's and state meet 4x200 meter relay record effort, along with
Eryn Carlisle, Haley Tucker, and Bri Miller. Austin was then named the 'MVP Runner of the meet!'
Nikki Aganbi won the shot put and broke her own school record by tossing 35 feet 11.75 inches and
Sasha Osipenko tied the state meet record in the pole vault, jumping 10 feet, 9 inches. Other 2015 Virginia State Indoor Track Champions include
Bri Miller in the triple jump,
