Saints Divers Win Invitational

Julie Dayton
The 5th annual Saints Diving Invitational drew the strongest field ever including over 80 divers representing public and private schools from all over the state. This is St. Catherine's first team title for the Invitational. The day was a total team effort. All of our divers (V and JV) placed in the top 8 and scored points for the team. Riley Alvis finished 5th and Naomi Chetelat finished 6th, both girls dove really well. Riley nailed her last dive to set a new school 11-dive record of 342.85 breaking Annie Moore's 2005 record of 338.00 and was named the Gloria P. Thompson Award winner (goes to the top local diver male or female). The JV divers faced a tough field as well. Chandler Kerkam (2nd), Abby Craig (4th), Hannah Dennison (7th) and Anna Dykshorn (8th) all had a great meet. St. Christopher's Richard Bailey also dove well against a tough field finishing 8th out of 20.
