Saints Name New Swim Coaches
Susan Crook '05 and Stuart Ferguson were named co-head coaches of the Saints swim program.
St. Catherine's and St. Christopher's School are excited to announce that Susan Crook '05 and Stuart Ferguson have been named co-head coaches of the Saints swim program.
Working in support of our teacher-coach model, along with their swim coaching responsibilities, Crook is a full-time faculty member at St. Catherine’s and Ferguson will teach full-time at St. Christopher’s.
As co-head coaches, they will partner with one another in leading the St. Catherine’s and the St. Christopher’s swimmers, providing effective and consistent leadership for both teams, while operating as one Saints swim program.
Crook was a decorated swimmer at St. Catherine’s and then at Washington and Lee. At the college level, she was recognized as an All-Conference and Academic All-Conference competitor four times and Honorable Mention Scholar All-American and team captain her senior year. Prior to this appointment, Crook coached swimming at St. Mary’s Episcopal School in Memphis served as both an assistant and then head swim coach for the Westwood swim team here in Richmond and was head JV swim coach at St. Catherine’s during the 2014 season. Crook teaches Spanish and English at St. Catherine’s.
Following an outstanding high-school swim career at Collegiate School, culminating in his selection as the Cougars Male Athlete of the Year in 2009, Ferguson went on to earn All-SEC and All-American Honors while swimming for Auburn University. As the Tigers swim team captain in 2012 and 2013, he concluded his college swim career having been recognized as a seven-time NCAA All-American, five-time SEC Champion and a two-time Olympic Trials qualifier. Ferguson will teach as a member of St. Christopher’s history department.
