Girls out for spring sports are strongly encouraged to work out over spring break. Coaches will be providing handouts with the game plan and many teams may have optional practices during the break. Please check with coaches.
Unpredictable weather, field conditions and daylight affect spring practice times and locations. Girls should be prepared for indoor and outdoor practices everyday. Coaches will communicate with girls via email. Once we have teams selected, coaches will hold parent meetings to get parent email lists, give out practice and game schedules, and review team expectations. Parents will receive regular communication from coaches.

The Saints cross country team had an early season test on one of the toughest courses in the state at Woodberry Forest. A second visit to the course for the state championship would confirm the young Saints team had grown to fear no one during the season. Six-time defending champion Bishop O'Connell and two very strong LIS teams in Trinity and Collegiate all planned to make a run for the title. But this cold, windy fall day with the stunning backdrop of the Woodberry campus would belong to the Saints. Collegiate finished third with 128 points, Bishop O'Connell finished second with 99 points, and the Saints won the 2013 State Championship with 76 points (low score wins)! Receiving All State honors, Ann Nicholson finished 1st for the Saints, 3rd overall, Izzy LeBay finished 2nd for the Saints and Ryley Ogden finished 3rd for the Saints. All of the girls ran strong races, allowing our depth and talent to combine for the exciting outcome. Congratulations Saints Cross Country!
It really was a "championship Friday". St. Catherine's cross country team started the excitement with 6 girls placing in the top 15 runners to win the LIS title (the 23rd for the Cross country program). Saints hockey fought a good battle against a strong Trinity team to defend their LIS title, 3-1. The LIS volleyball championship followed with a full house in the Kenny Center to see St. Catherine's and Trinity play for the title. Trinity would not go away easily, but the Saints were able to win the match in 3 games. Yesterday the tennis team came so close to pulling off the upset at the LIS tournament, but it was not to be. There were some great matches, amazing points and a valient effort but the Saints eventually fell 48-47 to the Cougars.
